Decem-beard?

Well, you have all heard of the November Moustache – or MOVEMBER –
the great duty of all blessed with hefty hair follicles on the upper lip
banned together to bring more attention to PROSTATE CANCER.
Well, while stroking the fine stubble, on my equally fine face, and pondering
on the benefits of bringing attention to important issues with faciaI hair, I
thought that perhaps December should be DECEBMEARD. Yes, a month to grow
your finest beard. “But what for”, you ask, “why should I grow a beard”?
Well, I pondered more and thought of all the events we have every day and week
and month and year………….

For example today, December 1st 2010, is WORLD AIDS AWARENESS DAY
There is something important EVERY SINGLE DAY of the month.
Whether it is Finland’s Independence Day (December 6th) or Rizal Day in the Phillipines (December 30th.

So, hey, I’m gonna grow a beard, and you know what its gonna stand for, or signify?
THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE. Yep. It is that time of year when we become more
aware of the plight of the homeless and the forgotten. It is also the time of year
when we tend to spend more time with friends, family and co-workers. So, I am
hoping that the beard will ignite conversations and declarations of why life IS great.

We hear too often about all the lousy and awful and calamitous and unbelievable
things going on in the world everyday. Let the beard stand for dignity and positivity.
Let the beard signify hope and determination and a reinvigorated dialogue of why
we all love life. how we find happiness. Where we find joy.

So, if you can, GROW A BEARD let DECEMBEARD begin!!!
